In oktober 2023 werd ik door Flying Solo uitgenodigd om deel te nemen aan de catwalkshow van de New York Fashion Week in februari 2024 voor de herfst/wintercollectie 2024-2025. Ik solliciteerde, voelde me vereerd maar onzeker, en in november was ik dolblij toen ik hoorde dat ik was geselecteerd.
Ik heb volledige creatieve vrijheid gekregen voor mijn collectie, zonder beperkingen qua kleur of materiaal. Het is mijn taak om acht sets voor de catwalk voor te bereiden. Ik heb regelmatig contact met New York om de laatste hand te leggen aan mijn collectie, die aan het eind van de zomer online zal verschijnen. Ik zal echter binnenkort sneak peeks delen op social media.

Wie is Flying Solo?
Dit unieke concept heeft bekendheid verworven en wordt regelmatig genoemd in gerenommeerde publicaties zoals Vogue, Elle en The NYTimes.
Twee keer per jaar biedt Flying Solo op zijn catwalk aan voor opkomende merken. Zij voorzien de catwalkshow van professionele modellen incl. visagie en haarstyling en alles wordt vastgelegd door professionele fotografen en videografen. Dit schept een unieke gelegenheid voor nieuwe designers en merken om zich te presenteren. Bovendien worden verschillende fashionmagazines en influencers uitgenodigd, wat zorgt voor voldoende exposure.
How it all began...
In October 2023, I received an invitation by email from Flying Solo to participate in the selection process for a runway show during New York Fashion Week in February 2024, where the fall/winter 2024-2025 collection would be presented. Initially honored but also somewhat uncertain, I decided to take the leap and sign up. In early November, I received the exciting news that I had been selected to participate in Fashion Week in New York! OMG!
With complete freedom to create my own collection, without restrictions on color or material, I immediately began the design process. My only task was to submit eight sets for the runway show. I have been in contact with New York several times and submitted my new collection. You'll have to be patient a little longer, as it is the fall and winter collection, it will only appear in the webshop at the end of summer. But of course, I'll share it with you earlier on social media.

On Wednesday, February 7, I fly to New York, where the following days are entirely dedicated to New York Fashion Week.
The agenda includes designer meetings, day of interviews, a fitting day with models, the day of the runway shows, and of course the afterparty!
Who is Flying Solo?
Flying Solo (flyingsolo.nyc), with stores in Soho New York and Paris, employs an innovative retail model that integrates membership and the sharing economy in the fashion and retail sector. It provides space (sales & visibility) for emerging designers and brands. These stores also offer clothing, accessories, and jewelry brands from renowned designers, including Vivienne Westwood and United Nude. This unique concept has gained recognition and is regularly featured in reputable publications such as Vogue, Elle, and The NYTimes.
Twice a year, Flying Solo offers its runway for emerging brands. They provide the runway show with professional models including makeup and hairstyling, and everything is captured by professional photographers and videographers. This creates a unique opportunity for new designers and brands to showcase themselves. Additionally, various fashion magazines and influencers are invited, ensuring ample exposure.
